From the beginning, our bride Laura knew she wanted a custom pergola dripping with romantic foliage and blooms and we love highlighting this unique space with special installations! The arbor dripping in romantic blooms and greenery was the highlight of the village-like ballroom. The arbor acted first as an aisle for the ceremony, then the long king table was moved underneath for a fairytale dining experience.
The unique wedding venue “The Indiana Roof Ballroom, affectionately called the “Roof,” has been an important part of downtown Indianapolis since 1927 when it first opened its doors. Located above the Indiana Repertory Theatre, it has hosted famous performers, big band dances, fundraisers, corporate parties, weddings, and special events for nearly a century, and is considered one of the most historic venues in the entire Midwest. Dreamed up in 1926 by Edgar O. Hunter and Preston Rubush, the Roof first opened in September of 1927. Designed to appear as if you were in a European village, no detail was forgotten.”
Using the village-like interior as inspiration, Laura loved the idea of floral settings that made the space feel like a romantic wedding in a Tuscan piazza.
From the garden style gatherings of romantic blooms and foliage to the many custom details, this wedding was one of the year’s most romantic!
We curated a palette of soft lush blooms and delicate seasonal textures in ivory and blush paired with ample flowing foliage. From the garden style gatherings of romantic blooms and foliage to the many thoughtful details, this wedding was one of the year’s most romantic!
So much care was taken with every lovely detail ensuring the whole event from the custom invitations to the detailed place settings was cohesive and a beautiful experience for the bride and groom and their guests.
My favorite invitation style includes a sketch of the wedding venue (just so charming and personal and the loveliest keepsake!) and Creative in Bloom illustrated the facade of the Roof Ballroom with total personality and charm! Upon opening the invitation, you see a border of gracefully dripping blooms to continue the romantic garden theme.
The ballroom glowed with warm candlelight. Softly textured table linens paired with delicate charger plates, gold flatware and cut glass goblets provided layers of subtle beauty. No detail was neglected, and the result was an evening of total beauty that reflected the couple’s taste and personality perfectly!
Our groom loves greenery and requested some small trees be incorporated into the tabletop decor. (Truly, his only decor input was “I like greenery and trees would be cool”). We hope you loved our fantasy tabletop trees!
Oh this dainty but glorious cake by Two Sons Cakery! Delicately abstracted florals with just the right amount of gold leaf climb up the perfectly proportioned tiers. In anther life I wanted to be a pastry chef so I could to create edible beauty like this! We created a little cake garden at the base of the cake to harmonize with the other floral settings but not overwhelm the cake’s own artistry.
